Description

The diagrams in the book show how to make three stars of gradually decreasing size which can then be nested one inside the other. Each star requires 8 units with each unit folded from a square sheet. If the sheet size used for the largest star is A, then the sheet size used for the next largest star should be A x 0.793 = B, and the sheet size used for the smallest of the three stars should be B x 0.793 = C. The diagrams show how to prepare B size sheets by folding and cutting A size sheets, and then how to prepare C size sheets by folding and cutting B size sheets. However, it also possible to calculate the correct sizes mathematically and then measure/cut the B and C sheets accordingly. The diagrams only show a combination of three stars, but more stars can be added. By using the 0.793 formula to calculate smaller and smaller sheet sizes, you can make and nest smaller and smaller stars. The photograph on the cover of the book shows this model assembled from seven stars. This model is very attractive on both sides, making it ideal for hanging in a window or on a door with glass panes.
